A quick update in life:
Pretending i have short hair... haven't taken any snaps like this in awhile. Onto another subject I'm SUPER hyped about Harry Potter!!!! Got my advance tickets ready and am very prepared to see it at the 8 o'clock show with my friends on opening day 8D

A few of  my co-workers are joking around about having a harry potter night possibly before it comes out! Everyone's going to be decked out in HP clothing...  Anyone else celebrating the HP finale???

BB CREAM REVIEWS

The latest trend in Asia, as many of you know, are BB Creams. BB Cream stands from Blemish Balm Cream which is 'between'  foundation and skincare (though personally, i believe it leans more towards foundation/makeup). It is said to be a product that works as a foundation while treating your skin. I believe it was originally produced in Korea for after surgery patients but is now enhanced for everyday wear.

Here is a list of BB Creams i have at hand....
For your interest & reference, my skin colour is #01 Dior [foundation] and i have normal to combination skin type.

[Comments/Recommendations] I've always stuck to Dr.G for its good coverage. It makes redness/discolouration disappear. I find that after 3/4 hours the T-zone will become a bit oily so i highly recommend finishing with powder. The main reason i dislike using it would be the colour (greyish cast) as a result of oxidizing. My concern is that the colour just doesn't blend well with fair skin and therefore i have to mix it with my foundation or a lighter BB Cream to achieve the best colour compatibility.

L'EGERE UV whitening BB Cream SPF 34
[Coverage] Medium..
[Colour] Medium-Dark Yellow Tone
[Skin Type] Normal/Oily
[Comments/Recommendations] This is definitely not recommended for fair skin. The colour, as you can see in my tester example, is meant for darker yellow skin. This product 'claims' to whiten skin, though i have yet to see this happen. The coverage however, is satisfactory. I originally bought this after reading multiple advertisements in magazines and viewing commercials... only to get disappointed at the colour match. It gives my face a rather dark tan look to it. It didn't work well when i tried to mix it with my lighter foundation, it just...didn't work for me.

[Coverage] Light/thin
[Colour] Light/Fair Pink Tone
[Skin Type] Normal - Oily
[Comments/Recommendations] This BB Cream is meant for fair skin. It blends in very well however there is not much coverage. The product itself is very smooth and as it says in the name, 'watery'. I recommend to blend it with a darker BB cream to obtain the best colour match for your skin if your colour is darker than fair. I find, with my combination skin type, it does dry out my skin a little though.

BRTC Glamorous Sparkling BB Cream SPF 36 PA++
[Coverage] Light to medium
[Colour] Medium Pink tone
[Skin Type] Normal
[Comments/Recommendations] It works almost the same as the Jasmine BB Cream though it has an almost pearl-like finish (reflective shimmer particles) which is meant for the taking photos. The colour is roughly one shade darker (assuming without shimmer particles). I find it makes the skin appear oilier due to the shimmer particles which may also highlight pores/uneven skin...not good. This works best if you use it in very small doses to highlight an area or mixing it with another foundation/bb cream.

Skin79 Diamond Collection Prestige BB Cream SPF 25 PA++
[Coverage] Light to medium
[Colour] Medium
[Skin Type] Normal-Oily
[Comments/Recommendations] I actually think this one is extremely similiar to the BRTC Jasmine BB cream. It blends in very well, with similiar light to medium coverage. The main difference is that this product is made for fair yellow tone skin while the Jasmine water one has a pinkish tone.

Skin79 VIP Gold Collection Whitening Wrinkle Improvement UV Protecting SPF 25 PA++
[Coverage] Light to Medium
[Colour] Medium
[Skin Type] Normal
[Comments/Recommendations] I think this colour is very good for medium fair skin. It provides about the same amount of coverage, if not more, than the Skin79 Prestige BB Cream (in general its characteristics are pretty similar to this product). The main difference is that it is a couple shades darker than the Prestige one.

Skin79 Triple Functions Whitening Wrinkle FREE UV Protecting SPF 25 PA++
[Coverage] Light to medium
[Colour] Medium Yellow Tone
[Skin Type] Normal
[Comments/Recommendations] This product is good for medium to fair skin. The colour is lighter than Dr. G however does not provide 'as much' coverage. Without comparing, the coverage itself if pretty good/satisfactory and blends in extremely well :)

Skin79 Diamond Collection Pearl Luminous BB Cream
[Coverage] Light
[Colour] Light/Fair Pink Tone
[Skin Type] Normal
[Comments/Recommendations] This BB cream is CRAZY shimmery. Love it for photos but definitley not for everyday wear. It has a light coverage but is very smooth to blend in. The shimmer is even more powerful than the BRTC Glamorous Sparkling BB Cream, wow.
[Overall Rating (for my skin)] ***

What i would do to get the perfect colour is to mix the BB Creams or mix the BB cream with your personal foundation to get the colour and coverage you desire. Hope this helps!

BUY A PLUG ADAPTER! I brought along some electrical devices and chargers only to forget that their plugs are different... way different. But you can buy a plug adapter at their convenience stores for about $4  believe? I disliked their non-powerful hair blowdryers haha... xD;

&VERY IMPORTANT: But extremely careful everywhere and anywhere you go. I'm not joking. I didn't blog much about the other parts of China (only focusing on HK) but the traffic there is really really dangerous. Don't bring any valuables with you. Don't wear any obvious jewelry or bags. .... Okay, I just googled it. It's EXACTLY the place I thought I probably walked into.... so sad. XD There's one in San Jose's Santana Row that's pretty famous for all the high end shops and whatnot, that I hadn't been to until I was like, 14 and my mom's friend from HAWAII took US there. *sigh* So I guess I've been in there twice, but it doesn't look a thing like the one near you :O The Vancouver location looks a LOT more interesting!! Same as the comment above the..above? l&I shop almost.. anywhere? Locally and internationally (online). I can't say i really stick to any particular store i guess because it's quite fun to find a pieces from here and there. Locally, i shop frequently at Zara (though according to my European friends, Zara is just...satisfactory lol! Wish i shopped where they do haha!)

I like the way you do your makeup and was wondering is it obvious that you're wearing fake eyelashes? I mean can you see your real eyelashes when you wear your fake eyelashes?

I have this problem where when i wear my fake eyelashes it's really obvious to tell my real eyelashes and fake ones. My fake eyelashes curl upwards while my real ones droop downwards even when i tried curling and putting on mascara.
I was wondering whether you could give me tips and advice? Perhaps i'm applying the fake eyelashes wrongly? How do you do yours and if your real eyelashes blend in to your fake ones so it isn't obvious?
Haha my friends have asked me the same thing. I don't curl my real ones(though i know people suggest to). Thi is because i suppose my real asian eyelashes are long but quite thin so they are not as visible unless i put mascara on them. Plus, it kind of gives my eye a shadow effect, making it slightly larger. I've curled my lashes before and i realized my eye looks...not as big as without curling? It might just be me though haha.

I think that's great! Most people I know just want to lose weight to fit the style ... and lose and lose. It's good, that there's someone, who says that sometimes gaining weight is healthy, too!

Aww i do understand a lot of people want to lose weight. I have many friends who want to lose weight. And friends who say thing want to gain... but seem to be trying to do the opposite and lose weight?...even though they seem super skinny already haha. But when i say i want to gain weight... i honestly mean it. I won't go into details, but being really skinny...becomes quite the health hazard.

I eat... just about everything haha. But seafood is really good for staying young (asian theory gone on for years) and dairy products for strong bones and teeth. Eat your vitamins!

Aaaaaieeee, I LOVE YOUR NEW HAIRCOLOR! That color would be the ideal balance in my perspective. But yes, ash fades wayyy too fast, too fast for me to enjoy it properly. ._. I think my ash color faded from just about a week and a half. :o

I agree, i think ash colours on asian hair fade very quickly. I think when i had ash blonde hair, that only lasted about 2 weeks xD

Thanks a lot for writing this BB cream review, I have been searching for a nice BB cream that would suit my skin tone and this really helped! For example I had been considering Dr. G BB cream and I was confusedbecause some people seemed to find it too dark and other people too light... :--o But now I think that it would likely be too dark for my skin (which is quite fair) which is a pity because many people seem to like it..!
Dr.G is definately good for coverage. But if you have fair skin and don't want to mix bbcream or foundations, opt for the BRTC waterperfect or the skin79 prestige ;)

However, I do not know if they changed packaging or what not.

I've owned 2 Dr.G bb creams throughout the years and they both have the silver cap. I got them from reputable stores so i believe it's unlikely that they are fakes. The silver capped ones i think are the originals. I think the black cap is the newer, limited edition version that Dr.G came out with...

I read the article from the link you gave me, however i believe that people have different skin and different people break out from different products. I used the silver capped Dr. G and never broke out, nor did my friends. But this is just because our skin is compatible with it. I think it is just a change in packaging (after the company has realized its success) Thank you for letting me know though! It's an interesting topic that i hadn't looked into.
