I'm so burned out. Just finished 3 final exams with a driving test heading my way. Who would've thought the amount of group projects would be so heavily weighted and time consuming this semester!! DX A ridiculous amount of work and stress. This calls for a long lavender soak in the tub yesyesyes =3=;;


;A; after unfortunate neglecting of my blog due to summer school, work and lessons... i'm quite touched by the fact the people would still come to read my blog. It's been a bit over 4 months now. Read and replied to so many interesting comments.

ANTHROPOLOGIE & SNAPS

So they finally came to Vancouver. The buzz worthy clothing & home furniture store recently opened a shop in Vancouver! I've loved their collections for quite awhile but it meant making a trip to Seattle, which is also a good idea, but rather far for impulse shopping. The newly opened shop is located on Granville not far from the urban Jack & Jill.

I couldn't leave without buying anything! It was a rather hard choice between the white and light grey summer cardigan (as seen below) but i ended up getting the white one. It was on sale for $60, what a steal!

Vancouver CANUCKS

As some of you know the Canucks lost to the Bruins, but on a more positive note...we played in the finals! I'm still proud of the team for making it this far.

Onto the news: The aftermath of the game in Vancouver... was definitely frowned upon. The rioting that happened here has brought so much shame that i don't want to blog in depth about this. I would just like to say that those riots were definitely not done by true Canucks fans nor true Vancity people. I assume it was a group of trouble makers that just wanted to take advantage of the game results and got blinded by hate and greed. 

Vancouver is such a beautiful city with so many kind hearted and down to earth people. We won't let things like this bring us down. People from all over the world who watched the news let's honestly say that many of us only payed attention to the destruction. Cameras don't show everything. There was a lot of damage. But there were, and still, are people...real people who care. Those are the ones who tried -without any hesitation, without fear for their own safety, and with pride to protect our city. Those people... they deserve so much respect.

We love Vancouver. 

Many glass walls from selected stores were smashed. The picture above shows the temporary wood to hold in place until people can come in and replace it. The morning after the riot, many good Vancouver citizens came downtown to help clean up the aftermath. They left messages on the temporary wooden walls to remind everyone who walks by that there are still people in Vancity that cares. I think this is awesome.

DUN DUN DUN......

So... i've been meaning to touch up my roots for quite awhile but have decided to slightly change my hair colour. No... i'm not blonde haha. I've already done that phase once. I didn't think leaving bleach in my hair for 40 minutes would turn my hair...THIS freaky bright. So i decided to take a photo for keepsake. This is just a quick photo i took at the salon right after my base colour was applied (bleach).

A couple walked into our store and ordered a Boston Candy Apple. I was curious and asked, "By chance are you guys Boston fans?"....

The man softly answered, "...umm yea we just want to buy that apple..."

The lady nervously added, "Yeah... we are just from out of town... eerr...we don't know much about this hockey stuff i swear"

EVERYONE in the crowded store turned heads in sequence toward the couple. 

Yep. They knew it, we knew it.

There were definitely BRUINS fans in CANUCKS  territory LOL

Why do we sell Bruins candy apples?

Canuck fans appear to buy them to smash them up at parties :) Just sayin'

I went all over HK so it's kind of hard to say. The major brands are the ones surrounding Harbour Centre though~

So it was about $2000 in total?
Do you think $800 was enough for shopping? LOL

Every $10 goes a looong way. Trust me, it's better if you travel for the experience than just the shopping. But it really depends on what you are looking to buy in HK. If you want to shop at Vivienne Westwood, surely bring $500-$1000. If you just want to buy cosmetics, maybe $100? It really depends lol so i can't put my finger on a number.

I don't believe there is a WC store in HK, but i'm sure there are a few shops that carry the brand in HK.

You makeup tutorial is amazing!! You make it look so easy! Wow you use three different mascaras for lower lashes...I thought I was weird because I used two >.<. Can I ask if you use a specific tweezer to put on your eyelashes?

I use Tweezerman if that helps haha~

Omg that's pretty awful service, but to be fair sometimes customers can be just as difficult. I know (work department store retail) and I do try to keep my face on but sometimes...I really have to be curt and straight faced. And lots of customers don't realize the time we associates put in to make the store look clean for them and they act like rabid monkeys tearing the place up. We can't leave until the whole store is clean. ARGH. Okay end my rant, bad night at work, haha. 

I totally understand you haha, i work in food/beverage and i've seen a fair share of interesting customers xD

Btw, i love the starbucks vid XD i thought of working @ starbucks but I can't handle those kind of customers.. :'D

Haha, i've actually worked for Starbucks before (for a short period of time due to school) and it wasn't that bad. But i just found the video extremely funny wahahaha~

Sorry for another question! But I'd like to know how you handle stress from studies etc. My exams are in three weeks, and studying is all I'll be doing. Unfortunately I end up eating and drinking constantly and my skin / appearance really suffers. Is there anything you'd recommend that'll keep me going through studies whilst not craving sodas and chocolate? Thank you! ♥

Aaaa i'm so sorry for replying to you this late, i really hate how i can't reply on blogger. If this still applies to you, i drink milk tea (earl grey in specific) when i'm stressed. There is caffeine in tea which helps wake you up. It is also a more healthy alternative to drinking coffee. There are anti-oxidents which is really good for your body and well being. Check out this link for some more details on tea. However, for me, just drinking tea itself makes me hungry. You are basically drinking water in a way, so i add milk to increase thickness. With warm milk tea you get the best of both worlds, if you make it by yourself anyways.

Also, a few biscuits are always good to go with tea ;) Also, taking a few relaxing baths with some bath bombs are always good! It relaxes your muscles and improves the look of skin. Hope this helped~

Hmm.. approximately 10-15 minutes?

That's really unfortunate you had such a bad experience at that restaurant!! I'm really shocked in recent years over the extreme decline in customer service :( I went to Quickly tapioca drink shop one time with my boyfriend, and as soon as I walked up to the counter, the girl walked away. She came back about 30 seconds later and asked what we wanted to order. I asked to order a taro drink and she immediately said "What kind?" with a reallyyy bad attitude attached... I asked or a freeze and she blurted out "We don't have that one." Then I tried to order another drink and she thought for a second, and blurted out "We don't have that either." My boyfriend was SO mad he said "F-- this place!" and walked out. I couldn't believe her attitude!!

That sounds horrible. I'm just speechless.

ah yes...milestone - it used to be one of my fav restaurant but service + food has gone downhill in the past 2 years...i hope u left her no tip!! when i travel esp in the U.S., the servers at most restaurants are super nice and attentive and definitely deserves the tips but the service in canada in general leaves much to desire~~
