I'm guilty of being pretty much inactive for the past two weeks...

Oh, the horror story.

The past two weeks i've been working full-time/possibly overtime. Unfortunately a couple of coworkers have been getting sick (i was down a day as well ==;;) and residing in the hospital from an unfortunate biking accident ( Meg! You worried us so much >XU) On one of the nights, i felt really awful, overwhelmed with fatigue and suddenly felt like throwing up. I almost blacked out on my way to grab an Advil. I was driven to the hospital shortly after "orz Horrible and embarrassing moment. The store has been a little crazy lately, huge chocolate orders for weddings and events.. work work work "orz

Cosplay & Photography

Yesterday, was my lovely and refreshing day off. My gal friend, Sharon (i've nicknamed her Pearface since we were little haha) asked me to join her to go to a local cosplay gathering (Lights & Cameras, hosted by some lovely cosplay enthusiasts). I presume there were 150+ cosplayers and photographers at this event and it was a great turnout. I only had a short time at the event due to our lateness but it was fun~

I was there mainly to take some photos and see some old friends. I don't think you guys have seen me take pictures of other people yet haha? Anyways, here's a bit of a change to the norm:

Some exciting opportunities that i've encountered!
I've heard from KLIP magazine that they may possibly be featuring me in their next months issue xD What's funny is the other day while on my way to work they were taking street snaps downtown and asked me for one QuQ ... I just wished...they had caught me on a normal day instead of me wearing very casual "go-to-work" clothes, but hey, i still very much appreciate the opportunity X3

During the same week, in another "go-to-work" setting, i was stopped by two tall handsome guys representing the popular Korean fashion website, Hiphoper.com, for street snaps as well...what were the chances?

Back to the memo on my outting with Pearface yesterday, i was also asked by a representative from Asian Post Pacific for a possible feature or model shoot QuQ..i was quite shocked since.. i was there to "take" photos... i didn't imaging it to turn out to be the other way around xD
While i was leaving, another photographer who shoots for Crystal Cover Girl, Hong Kong Beauty Pagents and the such asked me for some model photoshoots for his portfolio or possible fashion spreads.

It's kind of like... that feeling... you go to school, work and work, and think that's all there is left in life ...then BAM! Something fun, something different that you've been wanting to try springs up. I just wanted to share my happiness with you guys, hope i'm not over-typing haha...

HAIR?...
A quick response to your request on how i do my hair?.. as in bangs etc.
How i cut my bangs (Soft sideswept bangs)

1. Comb your hair straight
2. Consider your preferred bangs length
3. Hold bangs between two fingers
4. Trim hair horizontally while gently pushing across. Cut to desired length

How i flat iron my bangs

Set flat iron to low-medium temperature

Short hair/FAKE BOB

I just use pins. Seperate hair into two, braid starting from desired length (higher for shorter bob etc.), tease and pin. Hairspray for extra staying power.

This was just a very quick video as there aren't that many steps involved in doing my hair..as you can see it's pretty much filmed last minute for fun lol~

...i don't think i'm ever going to get used to making videos with a serious face >XD

HAIR TIPS & NOTES

Want volume?
Blowdry your hair upside-down! You'll definitely see the results! I do this instead of using any volumizing products. I think volumizing shampoo/conditioner/hairsprays are really bad in general. Just because the concept for creating volume for them are to 'frizz' your hair until you get that poof. I really dislike frizzy hair so when i tried out those shampoos/conditioners etc. i felt like it did more damage than anything. The volumizing hairsprays were the worst though, extreme tangles than just looked...horrible.

Losing that healthy look?
To make your hair look healthier without putting guck in your hair... just lightly spray it with heat-resistant hairspray (the ones you use before you curl/straighten your hair with hot tools) It can help bring your hair back to life ;)

How often do you dye your hair? Touch-ups?
I usually dye my whole head every 7/8 months. I do root touch-ups roughly every 4 weeks inbetween. Dying your hair can be super expensive. I also do not recommend at-home dyes just because i feel that you do not get anywhere near the same results as you would in a salon. Plus, it's more damaging as people usuallt don't have the same tools and hair care products that they treat your hair with in salons. Save up for that hair!

How much does it cost to dye your hair at a salon?
It ranges for everyone, everywhere. When i dye my hair, it usually costs $180-200 for a full head (take note that i have long hair) and roughly $80-90 for root touch up ... there goes all my money..

How should i dry my hair?
After washing your hair, towel dry your hair completely. Do not rub the towel back and forth on your scalp, it creates friction.. FRIZZ, FUZZ. Pat it dry on your hair using both hands. Blow dry your hair so that it is still 30% wet. Then leave the rest to air dry ^^
**Do not leave your hair to just air drying. When your hair is wet it is a hundred times easier for it to be prone to breakage and loss of hair :/

Have...LICE?
I've never had it happen to me before, but i've read in an article study a few years back that you can you Cetaphil (the facial cleanser) to wash your hair rid of lice easily :) You basically cover your whole head with the product and using a narrow tooth comb, comb out the lice bit by bit until they are all gone. Clean, inexpensive, and super easy. Magic!

Dandruff?!
Switch to the right shampoo/conditioner that has herbal ingredients capable of countering it. Also, as troublesome as it may sound, blowdry with cooler air... the dandruff/fungus cannot survive in colder temperature ;)

Hair too thin? Loss of hair?
My friend recommended that using Mane and Tails (a shampoo designed for horses but can be used by people) to trigger a regrowth and maintanence of hair. My friend said that one's parent uses it and works quite well.

You bleached your hair BLONDE?
Use...purple shampoo or shampoo designed for coloured hair. Otherwise, your colour will fade in less than a week. Blowdry with cool-warm temperatures to maintain best colour.

Want your hair to smell nice?
Spray a pump of your favorite perfume onto your comb and then work your way around your head. From a distance it is not obvious, and when closer up it is subtle and nice ^^

L'Oreal Professionnel Series Expert - Absolute Repair Neofibrine Repairing Shampoo for Very Damaged Hair Shampoo
L'oreal Professionnel Serie Expert - Vitamino Color Conditioner
L'Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert -Vitamino Color Incell Hydro-Resist Color Protecting Gel-Masque Hair And Scalp Treatments

These work amazingly well...in combination. I find that the conditioner and hair mask is a MUST .. better used together (conditioner, lightly) As for the shampoo, i think you can keep to your personal choice as long as it cleans well^^ The vitamino series consists of a very lightweight product with a subtle scent that won't dull or decrease hair volume :)

After using these products, my hair becomes silky smooth... and has a subtle shine to it that makes it look healthy^^ Remember, when using the hair mask, FOLLOW the instructions! do not simply rub on and rinse xD

I've gone through a few curlers in the past and have tried some of my friend's as well but when it comes down to it, these two are my favorite. The both heat up super fast and really give your hair a nice and healthy finishing shine after use! They don't frizz my hair at all ^^ The Babybliss has several temperatue settings and is very easy to handle for its size. I use the 1.5" to create natural looking loose wavy curls and the 1" for more defined volumed curls. Sometimes i like to use them both in combination, the 1.5" for the top layer of hair and the 1" for the bottom layer of hair.

Straightener
1"KQC
My absolute must-have! If i were to travel abroad, i'd have to past this in my suitcase! The KQC is my favorite straightener. Heats up fast with multiple temperature settings. It does the job so well, leaving the hair with a nice and healthy shine. It straightens my hair very well, no damage! It is also what i use to curl my bangs a little ;) LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

MUST WATCH! I highly recommend this one! If you liked 'You're Beautiful' and wanted to see more of this couple, here's your chance 8D Oh, Heartstrings...I hadn't been keeping up with Kdramas lately but this one i just couldn't miss! I started to watch it yesterday and caught up this morning! ...i'm such a couch potato sometimes haha xD This drama is so cute and lovable you just can't resist clicking on the next episode to see what happens~ Quickly became of my of favorites and can be a 're-watchable' one as well. The light humor, quirky romance and steadily developing plot really show how the characters grow. LOVE it!

There you go! i've just shared some of my super secrets with you guys XD As some of you may have noticed, i haven't worn extensions or anything in the like for a few months now. So all those photos above are of my real, freshly washed & styled, hair ^^

Unfortunately there was some things that i wanted to add to the hair guide but didn't have enough time to include so i will continue that in my next post (how i cut my bangs, a short step-by-step tutorial on how to achieve a fake bob/short hair etc)
